New Zealand Attacks 15th March 2019

Tragedy strikes the world again

The events that took place in New Zealand today are shocking and disturbing at the same time. Shocking in so much as how the perpetrator acted so callously and with no remorse while recording himself. And disturbing that killings were religiously motivated

Throughout centuries, followers of all religions have lived together in harmony and peace. Understanding and tolerance. Because that is what the core of every religion teaches us. We are not all the same colour, or belong to the same caste but we do live in this world as neighbours and that is what all religious traditions point towards. Respecting and honouring our neighbours

The act against Muslims is an attack on us all. Not just the Muslim people. It should be a wake-up call that such people do not belong to any one religion. Terror has no religion

From us here at Hounslow Jamia Masjid, Hira Islamic Centre, Islamic Integration Community Centre, Madina Islamic Mission, Hussaini Mission, UKIM, Ak-Furqan Education Trust, Hyderabadi Association, Isleworth Community Centre, the co-alition Mosques from the London Borough of Hounslow condemn these atrocious attacks. We stand in solidarity with the people of New Zealand who have rejected this barbaric act. And we once again re-iterate that we are hand in hand with friends of all faith groups on the path to doing our utmost to promote and maintain peace in our community
