Masjid Reopening Date

Posted on: 11 June 2020
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatahu Dear brothers and sisters As announced by the Government earlier this week, places of worship across England will be permitted to reopen for individual prayer ‪from Monday 15 June‬. Congregational prayers, which include the Friday prayer, will not be possible at this stage For Muslims the main reason for praying in the Mosque is to partake in the congregational prayer. Since congregational prayers are not yet allowed, Hounslow Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre will not open to the general public ‪on 15th June‬ We are working towards the next date in the phased reopening of ‪4th July‬. However, places of worship still have discretion over when they consider it safe to open and may decide to remain closed or reopen at a slower pace if they wish. This is something we will be considering as a real possibility as safety of our congregation is the priority When we do reopen, we will require the utmost support from all attendees. This will include respecting all guidelines and instructions, as well new procedures which will need to be enforced for the safety for all. We will outline these in due course We would like to thank everyone for their patience in this very challenging period. The Masjid is the heartbeat of our community, and we are all eager for it to reopen. However, by compromising on safety we risk having to close the Mosque again Thank you for your understanding Hounslow Jamia Masjid Management
