This statement is made for and on behalf of the Board of Trustees of Hounslow Jamia Masjid
and Islamic Centre (The Trust).
The Trust is aware of the Article published in the Sun on 16 October 2025 which makes
serious allegations regarding the management and use of the charitable funds.
The Trust fully understands the concern and distress, this article may have caused to the
congregation, donors and wider community. Trust is the foundation of all charitable work,
and this Trust takes it responsibilities with the utmost seriousness.
The Trust strongly refutes any suggestion of the intentional misuse or misappropriation of

corruption of funds. However, in response to the concerns raised, the Charity Commission
has communicated to the Trust its opening of a regulatory compliance case to assess the
charity’s governance. The Charity Commission’s communication reads:
“We have opened a regulatory compliance case into Hounslow Jamia Masjid and Islamic
Centre to assess concerns regarding the charity’s governance. We have made no findings at
this time”
