Court Victory: Case Against Hounslow Jamia Masjid Dismissed

Date: 7 December 2025
Issued by: Hounslow Jamia Masjid Trust

Hounslow Jamia Masjid is pleased to announce a decisive legal victory following proceedings
brought against the Masjid by Muhammad Umar Farooq (aka Umar Sasti Flight) and Chaudhary
Mohammad Tariq Aziz (aka Tariq Talha Motors). On 5 December 2025, the Kings Bench court
struck out their claim, ruling firmly in favour of the Masjid.

Case Background

The individuals had been banned from the Masjid premises after their involvement in a
disturbance during Ramadan 2025. They subsequently challenged this ban in the High Court
(Kings Bench Division). The court, noting Trustees’ powers to ban such individuals, confirmed that
the claimant failed to follow the correct procedure and therefore, did not comply with the law in
initiating the legal proceedings against the Masjid in the court.

Key Points from the Legal Proceedings

-The case was struck-out for failing to comply with the law.
-Umar Sasti Flight and Tariq Talha Motors were ordered to pay £8,000 in legal costs to
the Masjid.
-Before the hearing, attempts by the claimants to withdraw their case and settle out of
court were rejected by the Masjid Trustees for Umar Sasti Flight and Tariq Talha Motors
did not make good o􀆯ers to pay the Masjid’s legal costs for defending their baseless and
frivolous claim.
-Following the hearing, Umar Sasti Flight and Tariq Talha Motors sought to persuade the
judge to order cost (£8000) payment arrangements spread over 2 years of instalments
stating they had no monies to pay £8000 in one go. However, the judge rejected the plea,
allowing them 28 days to either make the payment or to make arrangements directly with
the Masjid.

In the wake of this ruling, that Hounslow Jamia Masjid reiterates that it acted fairly and
responsibly in safeguarding the sanctity of the Masjid. The Trust remains committed to protecting
the congregation and ensuring that personal disputes or disruptive behaviour must not
undermine the peace and dignity of the House of Allah. The Trust takes the sanctity of the Masjid
and its worshippers seriously and will continue to act decisively against any behaviour that
threatens this sanctity.
